Solutions Consulting Group (SCG) and LightEdge Merge Teams to Deliver Microsoft Business Solutions

SAN DIEGO - September 20, 2005 - SCG and LightEdge Solutions today announced that the companies have joined forces to deliver Microsoft Dynamics(tm), formerly referred to as Microsoft Business Solutions, and hosted voice and data services to small and midsize companies.

As part of the business arrangement, SCG has agreed to acquire substantially all of the business assets and customers of LightEdge Solution's Microsoft Dynamics practice in Phoenix, Arizona. The companies have entered into a joint sales and marketing agreement whereby SCG, now a preferred LightEdge partner in the Southwestern market, will market LightEdge's fully-managed VoIP and data services to its consulting customers. In the same manner, LightEdge will market SCG's Microsoft Dynamics consulting services to its voice and data customers.

The companies are collaborating to provide the following benefits to small and midsize business customers in the Southwestern region:
  • Leverage SCG's industry-leading expertise in delivering customized, integrated Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly referred to as Microsoft Great Plains) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions, as well as Business Intelligence and Applications Development, to business customers in the greater Phoenix and Southern California regions.
  • Allow small and midsize businesses to combine SCG's solutions with LightEdge's fully-managed VoIP and IT services offerings in a cost-effective and practical manner.
  • Make best-in-class Microsoft Dynamics and hosted data networking solutions available to small and midsize companies while minimizing implementation risk, exposure to technology obsolescence and upfront capital expenditure.
  • Remove barriers to adoption of converged network voice and application services for small and midsize companies to provide operational efficiency and expedite return on investment.
Jonathan Edmett, Partner, Business Development, SCG, said the acquisition further strengthens their leadership position and their customer offerings throughout the region. "SCG is committed to expanding our customer base in the Western region, and the acquisition of LightEdge's business solutions practice puts us in a position to offer the existing and new hosted services reflected in the transaction to our customers in Phoenix, as well as those throughout Southern California. By combining our award-winning staff with the LightEdge Phoenix Microsoft Dynamics practice, our customers in Phoenix and Southern California will experience an enhanced level of service and support."

"The merger leverages the synergy of two leading companies offering Microsoft Dynamics to companies in the Southwest and Southern California regions," said Jim Masterson, chairman and chief executive officer of LightEdge Solutions. "It's part of our aggressive strategy to expand our channel to better serve the technology needs of businesses as the convergence of telecommunications and IT unfolds. Our customers will benefit from SCG's expertise in business solutions services and support. Likewise, SCG's clients will be able to take advantage of the Fortune 500 caliber services - VoIP and other managed IT services - that we offer to small and medium businesses at a fraction of the cost."

"SCG's presence in Southern California, combined with the addition of the Phoenix market, provides Microsoft with the advantage of another well-qualified and dedicated partner in both markets," said Donna Armstrong, Microsoft Corp.'s General Manager for the Small and Mid-Market Solutions and Partners Group in Southern Calif. "Microsoft's focus on vertical depth, combined with product breadth, is an excellent match for SCG's offerings and our regional plans for growth."
