San Diego - July 28, 2005 - SCG was spotlighted at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2005 launch of the Redmond Channel Partner magazine in July. Having won the highly-prized Microsoft Worldwide Partner of the Year Award for Business Intelligence Solutions at the conference, the article focused on SCG's successful collaboration with Microsoft and how SCG has leveraged that relationship. SCG has earned two Microsoft Competencies: Business Intelligence and MBS, and is only one project away from earning its competency in e-business. On the importance of Microsoft technology to SCG's success, Bill Edmett, Jr., co-founder and Partner/Practice Management says, "Because we use the entire stock of Microsoft technology, we have literally gone back to the same customers three or four times and delivered on different projects. We may start out doing a .NET development project, which then leads to an ERP implementation, which then may lead to a CRM implementation. Ultimately, they always lead to some type of business intelligence solution that ties that data up for their executive management team." On the company's sales and business strategies, co-founder and Partner/Business Development, Jonathan Edmett, emphasized SCG's continual investment in the business and its employees, proficiency in the Microsoft technologies and great project management skills. "By working within the parameters of Microsoft's program, SCG has been able to leverage Microsoft's reputation and technologies to garner sales and customer loyalty." SCG offers a choice of hourly or flat-fee pricing to its customers, many of which are in food services, construction and real estate. About 50% of SCG's clients now use this fixed-fee approach, and it has caused the company to tighten up project management because, to quote Edmett, "You can't make money doing a fixed-fee project if you don't have great project management." Do SCG clients prefer the new fixed-fee approach over the more traditional "time and materials" payment structure? President/CEO, William Edmett, Sr. says, "A lot of them opt out of fixed-fee, and go by the hour. The only reason they decide to go by the hour with us is because, by that time, they've known some of our other clients, they've learned more about our history and they know we'll do the job for them."
