SCG
Background
Path 1 Network Technologies Inc., a San Diego-based company founded in 1998, San Diego, is a leading provider of IP video transport and routing systems to broadcasters, satellite operators, cable MSOs such as Cox, telecom operators, and entertainment studios. After going public in 2003, and being the first to transmit a high-definition broadcast of the Super Bowl over an IP network in 2004, the company underwent substantial growth.

Situation
Due to the Path 1's rapid growth, its existing accounting software was no longer capable of handling the company's accounting needs. After conducting an internal analysis, Path 1 concluded that it required a solution that would meet not only their current needs, but also the anticipated needs of its expanding enterprise.

Key Goals
  • To find an accounting solution that could meet anticipated future growth resulting from recent IPO
  • Support for a complex distribution network
  • Ability to cut costs and improve time-to-market speed
Solution
SCG analyzed Path 1's business requirements. After assessing the company's needs and matching business requirements to Great Plains functionality, SCG implemented seven key Great Plains modules, including purchase order processing and receiving, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, bill of materials, and sales orders.
