A Financial Services company’s growth was outpacing the software system it had in place, so it enlisted Solutions Consulting Group (SCG) to help streamline and automate much of its workflow processes. Situation At the time the company approached SCG, it was using a customized Web page, a one-page application to list data that followed an XML workflow. This resulted in manual processes, from loan inquiry to approval. The workflow was outdated, inefficient and continuously subject to human error as paper was shuffled from desk to desk, office to office. SCG sought to help the company automate its processes with a flexible, scalable and cost-effective solution designed also to harness, integrate and protect the integrity of existing data storage systems. Solution SCG first implemented CRM, which enabled the company to automate and customize its processes. Credit reporting, for example, went from a three-day process involving several phone calls and a Web-service credit check to real-time approval or denial. SCG also wrote a new company-specific programming language as well as an editor for the new language, which sped up workflow. SCG brought a company database into CRM, allowing for easy reference and contact. Using CRM, SCG also integrated an automated fax solution with their phone system, enabling a more seamless loan application process. In addition, SCG utilized Microsoft’s BizTalk Server and created a credit check program that automatically turns it into an easily accessible and storable report for future reference. Results By utilizing the Application Integration Framework and Touchpoint Components, SCG was able to cut development costs and reduce overall development time for this company. By first installing CRM and then further customizing the solution, SCG was able to design a flexible system that can scale as user demand for information grows. For this financial services company, SCG was able to allow better access to both back and front-office processes, streamlining and automating the company’s workflow processes. |
